The Parthenon
Because of its m both architectural attributes to the age, around would say that The Parthenon is one of the most outstanding pieces of architecture to contract out of the Golden Age Greek period. It is located on the the highest point in capital of Greece known as the acropolis. It was perfect in 438 b.c. and all over the course of its lifetime, it has been used for various purposes. What we square up today is a mere shell of its former ego due to being once destroyed.
The original purpose for the Parthenon was to be a temple to the greek goddess genus Athene Parthenon in her facial gesture as a virgin goddess, after whom the city of Athens was named. At one point, the temple housed a 40 invertebrate foot statue of Athena constructed of ivory, silver, and gold which was destroyed when Europe became Christian. At this point, the Parthenon was moody into a church.
The Architectural features of the parthenon usually involved two architectural readys. The Doric and Ionic styles. It is normally approached from the west but entered from the east. This meant that any visitor could appreciate the Parthenon magnificence in its entirety as they walked around. It was constructed of columns on its exterior and was 8 columns wide and 17 columns long.
