The Electoral College and the Presidential Election

Voters arent actually electing the chairperson; they indirectly elect members of the Senate and members of the House of Representatives who directly select the President and Vice President of the unify States. The Electoral College was established by the founding fathers in Article II of the Constitution and revise by the 12th amendment in 1804 as a spell of the Virginia Plan resulting in the Connecticut Compromise and Three-fifths compromise (Temporis, 2005).
