Sociological Imagination (chapter1 The promise)
According to C. Wright move, what evanesces in whatsoever one individuals life is interrelated with corporation as a whole. The sociological imagination gives us the ability to understand the correlation coefficient of ones liveliness, history, and traditions along with the knowledge of the social and historical impact and/or influence society may have on that mortal or root of batch. Mills notion compels us to investigate into an individuals biography and lifestyles, and place their findings within the surrounding circumstances in which events occur in order to perceive the whole picture of the society in which the individual lives.Â
Mills says to understand this imagination would be to see the connection between personal troubles and public issues. person-to-person troubles meaning, problems that are felt personally which are caused by occurrences or feelings in an individuals life; and public issues meaning, issues that affect a group or mass of people with their roots interwoven within an organization or institution and history of a society.Â
Mills discusses the difficulties most individuals encounter when trying to puzzle out what is occurrent in their lives and why.
Mills argues that the examination of individual biographies is not everlastingly sufficient to produce satisfactory answers, because sometimes, the relevant factors are turn up in the social structures, not in individual lives. He concludes that the sociological imagination is a learned quality that allows people to see beyond their own lives, and into the ways in which their lives run into with the broader history of their society.
