1. The story is told from the maiden person major.
2. His comments are reflective a narrow-minded, insecure, and judgmental person. He is uncomfortable because, he has never been almost a blind person and his wife is very dear with Robert. He feels there may be an ulterior power for the visit.
3. Robert visibly carries the sadness of losing his wife. His should are heavy and slouched. He does not wear the typical glasses as assumed by our fibber. He has a comfort item, his beard. He elatems to go to it when he ponders or contemplates. Robert does not necessarily challenge the storytellers beliefs in this story. Robert demonstrates the ability to see without eyes; which allows the narrator to dismay to see things in a different light. Robert is self-sufficient. He demonstrates this first when he cuts his steak at dinner. Also, he navigates the continuous flow of pose very well. Never does it mention he knocks over or drops the glass; and there were plenty of opportunities. The most impactful is when they sit buck together and draw the cathedral.

Maybe this was a reaching chip by the narrator and Robert was his path to understand how to obtain a suppressed desire.
