Chemical warfare in the battle of Verdun essay

Chemical warfare started long time ago in the history of wars. It is estimated that this goes beyond the Second World War into the First World War when the colonial forces were struggling for supremacy in the Europe,

American and the world beyond. During this time, colonial powers that were more dominant included the British, the French, Italians and the Germans. This paper therefore tries to examine the use of chemical warfare in the battle of Verdun. It is a chemical warfare in the battle of Verdun essay.

This battle dates back to the 1915 where the Germans staged their plan to attack the French at the fortress of Verdun. It was sparked by a letter written by Erich von Falkenhayn, to the Kaiser, Wilhelm II, in the December of that year. This was in the attempt to lure the British into coming to an agreement with the German after the defeat of the French. It is recorded that the German leader ignored their oncoming battle with the Russians and resorted to defeat the western giants, French.

Chemical warfare was used in this battle at Verdun to subdue the French enemies; by the use of tear gas, the Germans attacked the French army at the fortress of Verdun in 1916 in the month of February. Several soldiers from the French side were left dead while the Germans claimed victory.

Later on, the war moved to another fort, Fort Douaumont where a more dangerous gas was used . The Germans further used phosgene gas at Bar-le-Duc to Fort Vaux. These events are considered as the origins of chemical warfare, a type of war tactic that has greatly affected mankind for centuries.

Avant garde explore materially as well as aspects of cinematic apparatus

For those students studying cinema or arts, it is not uncommon that your lecture asks you to explore some elements of a certain movie or film as part of the assignments. In some cases, one may be asked to explore certain types of films or even the films that have been produced and directed by a certain popular producers and directors.

For instance, a student may be asked to write about avant garde explore materially as well as aspects of cinematic apparatus. When given a movie assignment, a good point to start would be to give a short summary of the story, or some sort of a plot overview.

In some situations, like for the one mentioned above, it could be useful to explain just what some of the words in the title of the essay imply. This is done so as to enable an individual who has no idea of what the essay is going to be about to at least understand the basis and what the essay shall explore. In the case of an assignment, writing a plot of a film or exploring the title could earn one extra marks because by doing so,

One gets to impress the lecturer by illustrating to him that he fully understands what he is being asked. In the case above one could write that avant-garde is a term of French origin that is used in English to describe works or people that are innovative and experimental particularly in the fields of politics, art and culture that simply represents the pushing of boundaries beyond what is considered normal.

Annotated bibliography and research paper

There are very many types in fact, there are all types of academic papers that you can get from this website by just placing that special request and asking the experts here to help you out to complete your paper. Some of the papers that students often need help with are the annotated bibliography and research paper.

An annotated bibliography is basically a type of essay that consists of two things namely an annotation and a bibliography. The annotation part is the section that explains what a certain source states in relation to the information that is being studied. Meanwhile the bibliography is the part that lists all the sources that one hopes to extract data from at a later stage while writing the research paper.

Normally, before the lecture allows you to write and research paper, you will have to demonstrate to the lecture that you are indeed capable of writing the research paper and some of the things that you might be required to do is to write an annotated bibliography that will explain to the instructor which sources you which to use for your research paper and what exactly it is from those sources that you wish to use in your research paper. An annotated bibliography is normally written according to the citation style requested by the instructor.

For instance, if your lecturer requests that you write an annotated bibliography and cite it according to APA citation, you will begin by writing the bibliographic part of the annotated bibliography by writing the name of the author, year of publication, title of book, place of publication and the name of the publisher. The difference with this bibliographic part and that which is normally included in a normally bibliography is that at the end of the bibliography, just after the name of the publisher, one has to include the range of page numbers that he hopes to derive the data to use in the research paper. In the bibliographic section of apa papers, this is not necessary unless it is a journal article that is being cited. In the annotated section, one basically summarizes the information that one hopes to extract from that particular source.

The summary of this source is normally done to fit anywhere between 100 to 150 words but this might change in accordance to the preference of the lecturer. On the other hand, a research paper basically entails one carrying out and extensive research of the sources that one has indicated in the annotated bibliography and putting down one’s findings in one’s own words. Research paper writing is not all about reporting what other sources have stated but also includes comparing the different sources and arriving on one’s opinion based on the findings of the research.
