Annotated bibliography and research paper

There are very many types in fact, there are all types of academic papers that you can get from this website by just placing that special request and asking the experts here to help you out to complete your paper. Some of the papers that students often need help with are the annotated bibliography and research paper.

An annotated bibliography is basically a type of essay that consists of two things namely an annotation and a bibliography. The annotation part is the section that explains what a certain source states in relation to the information that is being studied. Meanwhile the bibliography is the part that lists all the sources that one hopes to extract data from at a later stage while writing the research paper.

Normally, before the lecture allows you to write and research paper, you will have to demonstrate to the lecture that you are indeed capable of writing the research paper and some of the things that you might be required to do is to write an annotated bibliography that will explain to the instructor which sources you which to use for your research paper and what exactly it is from those sources that you wish to use in your research paper. An annotated bibliography is normally written according to the citation style requested by the instructor.

For instance, if your lecturer requests that you write an annotated bibliography and cite it according to APA citation, you will begin by writing the bibliographic part of the annotated bibliography by writing the name of the author, year of publication, title of book, place of publication and the name of the publisher. The difference with this bibliographic part and that which is normally included in a normally bibliography is that at the end of the bibliography, just after the name of the publisher, one has to include the range of page numbers that he hopes to derive the data to use in the research paper. In the bibliographic section of apa papers, this is not necessary unless it is a journal article that is being cited. In the annotated section, one basically summarizes the information that one hopes to extract from that particular source.

The summary of this source is normally done to fit anywhere between 100 to 150 words but this might change in accordance to the preference of the lecturer. On the other hand, a research paper basically entails one carrying out and extensive research of the sources that one has indicated in the annotated bibliography and putting down one’s findings in one’s own words. Research paper writing is not all about reporting what other sources have stated but also includes comparing the different sources and arriving on one’s opinion based on the findings of the research.
