Last of the Mohicans Into a Film Class

With this paper I took a different approach than that which was instantaneously expected by watching the film Pocahontas and attempting to incorporate it into this paper. It shows both the Native American and Colonial American civilizations of the day in cartoon form. Though the cartoon may allow for exaggeration, it does not rule out that the towns and villages could very headspring resemble what they looked like in the day. The movie Pocahontas showed kinda a bit of the colonist aggression towards the Native American people. When Pocahontas grew her relation with the colonial man we also got to see how the interior workings of their life style worked before the larger divergence resumed.

I think this early issue of conflict is important to address even if it is done with a movie with manifest fictional elements. The idea of American Colonist and Native American relations was slightly expressed in class through the discussion of the French and Indian war. Although The Last of the Mohicans showed some interactions betwixt the two groups and their relations, it didnt really show how despite the relationships do the Native Americans were still oppressed and dominated by the Americans. two films do show a white man being accepted into the Native culture, but Pocahontas explains what that was, and still showed quite a bit of deep explained cruelty and intolerance from colonists.
