In The Crucible, the people of Salem got caught up in the enjoyment of decent entertainment. This entertainment came at the expense of others. Life in the Puritan Society was very structured. This theocracy was intentional to keep the community united. The constant routine of every day life became boring for the people of Salem. This tiresomeness along with abhor and greed led to the Salem Witch Trials. Suddenly everything became provoke when Salems own Rebecca Nurse and Goody Osburn were criminate of murdering children. But it didnt stop there. Many innocent men and women were accused of witchcraft. The accusations however could not be supported by anyone merely by the people who stated it themselves. Yet because of the boredom and consistency, everyone joined in the so-called fun. Friends and neighbors who had a good pith were accused of witchcraft. The madness continued as the trials began. The newness of the situation was as well as exciting to miss.
Soon there was no support left(p) and all hope was lost for the innocent. Still, the madness went on as the hangings proceeded. Innocent people suffered as the guilty cheered from the sidelines, anticipating every moment.
